remember way back when we teased you with the inspiration board for baby f-bomb’s vintage-modern music themed nursery? well we’ve been hard at work turning that bad boy into a realty ever since, and we are so excited today to finally reveal the full real-life nursery tour.

the reading corner is one of our favorite parts of baby smith’s room. we painted ikea spice racks to hold our favorite childhood books and cozied up a moroccan pouf with a sheepskin rug, but our favorite DIY is this genuine 1946 westinghouse radio. we scored a broken one on ebay for $29, sprayed it baby yellow to match the room, and added gold striping tape to stay true to the radio’s original style.

we always think gallery walls are a great way to work in meaningful pieces. for smith’s we hung vinyl records painted in the room’s color palette, his dad’s acoustic guitar, artifacts from his parents’ favorite music (jackson 5 for mom, phish for dad), and the very best part – an ad from a 1954 michigan newspaper advertising smith’s great grandfather’s band playing at sophie’s tavern every friday & saturday night.

to fancy up this cube storage unit, we used faux leather drawers from target to hide some baby supplies, and stacked bobo the dinosaur atop of gold books leftover from smith’s parents’ wedding centerpieces. not to be forgotten are the totally rad custom name blocks and guitar teether from one of our favorite etsy sellers, little sapling toys.
